Job Description:
Overview Responsible for providing care for patients/athletes
including assessment, treatment, care planning and medical care
evaluation by following standards and practices. Assists
physicians, mid-levels, and other staff in coordinating
patient/athlete care. Acts as a liason between the patient/athlete,
their parents/guardians, physicians and physicians staff, as well
as the coaching staff to communicate effectively regarding the
athletes injury and care. Assists physicians, mid-levels, and other

for and assists patients/athletesCleans and stocks exam
roomsEnsures ATC kit is stocked appropriate for outreach
coverage.While in clinic obtains and documents a proper intake
including but not limited to patient's health history, vital signs,
and health risk factors, assesses condition via MORSE fall scale or
Oswestry pain scale as appropriateMaintains and updates knowledge
base of ATC/medical practices and current literature appropriate to
service and role to maintain currency of practice, expand knowledge
and improve patient/athlete care.Obtains patient consent for
care/in office procedures.Sets up and assists with office surgeries
and procedures including but not limited to: US injections, C-arm
injections and fracture closed reductions, podiatric office
procedures.Cast and splint application, removal and patient
education.Dressing changes and applications with patient education,
suture and staple removal.Fits patients with boots, braces and
other DME items as ordered by the provider. Provides patient
education specific for the item.Prepares injections.Works closely
with the provider, nursing, coaching and other staff to ensure
quality patient/athlete care.Maintains all appropriate
documentation including but not limited to consent to treat for
outreach coverage, documentation for all athlete interactions
including injury evaluation, follow up, referrals and
rehabilitation.Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines and
confidentiality policies.Compliant with HIPAA, OSHA and Red Flag
Rules.Provides outreach athletic training services to contracted
clubs, high schools, college teams as assigned.Communicates
effectively with athletes, their parents/guardians, coaching staff,
team and community physicians, physical therapists and other
athletic trainers regarding the injury and plan of care.Onsite care
and management of illness and injuries including prevention,
education, evaluation, management and rehabilitation. Minimize the
risk of injuries through awareness, education, and prevention
strategies.Electronic documentation of all patient/athlete
encounters including injury evaluations, referrals, treatments, and
rehabilitation.Possess strong critical thinks skills and has the
ability to make independent decisions regarding the assessment,
treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisions per state
licensure guidelines.Ability to work calmly and effectively under
pressure, working with the entire medical team to perform life
saving measure in a crisis.Responsibility for administrative and

The compensation range for this position is $20.85per hour -
$34.82per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum
range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The
actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a
variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s
experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts
