(LUMBER) in Chicago.** This is an opportunity to further develop

You will have the opportunity to work daily with the local sales
organization and be a Subject Matter Expert. We are looking for a
person who understands the importance of being a strong
relationship builder, is confident in their product and analytical
knowledge, and is comfortable working across the organization, with
customers and with suppliers.
This role serves as a business manager for a specific product or
group of products. The Product Manager has responsibility for an
assigned geographical area (sales district or region) and extensive
knowledge, depth and experience within assigned product group. The
Product manager works closely with outside and inside sales
representatives to support their customer base and assists the
sales team in all aspects of the sales process for the assigned
products - identifying new opportunities, developing sales
solutions, closing sales opportunities, negotiating pricing,
forecasting replenishment needs and providing outstanding customer
service.

**Responsibilities**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Establish strong relationships with clients that will provide
opportunities to grow sales and solidify BlueLinxs partnership for
long term profitability.
+ Identify new sales opportunities with new and existing customers
for assigned product(s).
+ Improves profitability, product penetration, product mix, and
inventory turns with all customers for assigned product(s).
+ May be responsible for selling large volumes of assigned product
to targeted accounts in geographical area.
+ Ensures effective product performance and promotes good customer
and supplier relations.
+ Assists all customers with sales and technical support for
assigned products. Also, responsible for resolving all customer
service issues related to assigned product.
+ Develops sales solutions and competitive pricing strategies for
assigned product(s). Communicates value proposition to customers.
Propose sales solutions to customers and reevaluate solutions where
necessary (may work individually or in conjunction with sales
representatives).
+ Provides product selection, product information, and pricing.
Answers inventory and pricing questions for customers and sales
team
+ Promotes existing products, as well as presents new product
opportunities to drive sales and profits.
+ Analyze and monitor sales and profitability; develop pricing
models and profitability strategies for the region.
+ Develops and builds relationships with internal business units
including branches, replenishment/supply chain team, product
management, and Branch Sales and operations team
**Qualifications**
+ 5+ years experience with BS / BA or equivalent industry
experience preferred.
+ Self-motivated, high energy, persistent, and sense of urgency
+ Proven track record of sales success ability to drive growth as
well as maintain a large book of business
+ Demonstrated success in problem solving - must be creative,
innovative
+ Ability to organize and prioritize and work cross
functionally
+ Superior Interpersonal skills - proficient in both written and
verbal communications
+ Working knowledge of assigned product line (lumber), customer
support/service, products and inventory management.
+ Possesses well developed consultative selling skills, negotiation
and communication skills.
+ Negotiates prices, provides market updates, prospects, evaluating
current and potential sales.
+ Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word,
Excel and PowerPoint
