Job Description:
Position Overview: -The Engineering Mold Technician supports the
molding operation with process, equipment, part quality, and issue
troubleshooting. -The technician also participates in corrective
action process, continuous improvement, and engineering
projects.Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Address and
resolve daily manufacturing issues. Identify plant-wide
inefficiencies and propose/implement corrective action. Optimizing
existing processes for efficiency. Assist in creating and modifying
processes for existing tools. Participate in new machine start-up
and commissioning. Assist in molding related work instructions.
Participate in molding related training efforts. Participate in
Non-conformance Action Record (NCAR) & Quality Alert Notices (QAN)
and Customer complaints, and work with team on Corrective And
Preventive Action (CAPA) process and documentation. Audit molding
related corrective action activities for accuracy completeness.
Facilitate small to medium size engineering projects with full
project scope including: Define requirements, test & compile data,
research alternatives and analyse results, perform cost analysis,
and make recommendations, implement. Experience &
QualificationsEducation: -Post-secondary education or 2-year degree
in a related field (Injection Molding, Extrusion, Plastics).
Preferred certificates in: Scientific Molding, RJG, and/or
Paulson.Experience: 5+ years of Injection Molding experience and
ability to practice scientific molding methods. Specific Skills:
Troubleshooting skills for Injection Molding Machines, RJG,
Paulson, ability to read and interpret part drawings and
blueprints/schematics, molding sequences, sequential core pulls. -
Equipment & Machinery: Injection Mold machines, additive feeders,
stack tools, quality testing tools. Computer Experience & Software:
-Basic computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
