The Business Development Supervisor will support Periscope's new
business activity with writing, coordination, pitch prep and
logistics. Business Development Supervisor will build, lead, and
manage cross-organizational teams, ensuring a strong, profitable,
and vibrant marketing communications business consistent with our
mission and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates new business team meeting logistics, in
collaboration with project management, for an active pitch,
including internal meetings and prospect visits -
- Manage account service resources that are assisting on new
business efforts, coordinating with their managers regarding
workload and job expectations -
- Manage internal and industry portfolios representing
Periscope's most noteworthy creative product
- Provide regular reporting and analysis of performance to senior
management
- Represent the agency's mission, capabilities and goals
accurately to assigned clients, business development prospects and
other potential industry allies (i.e., vendors, peers,
etc.)
- Build/Drive win strategies and pitch themes/narratives

- Leads some pitch activity, including establishing a vision for
the process, working across the agency to establish the right team,
and ensuring that final presentation and proposal materials are
inspirational and client-focused -
- Works collaboratively with team to assist in developing RFPs
and pitch presentations -
- Research prospective businesses for correct names, titles,
advertising budgets, geography, agency of record, sales data, etc.

- Research key prospects to discover motivators, passions,
history, relationships to help guide pitch approach -
- Leads, in collaboration with project management, the ongoing
organization and maintenance of agency depository of new business
materials - boilerplate credentials, case studies, bios, client
references, impact statements -- and assist where appropriate in
developing any new or special materials needed for initial new
business meetings -
- Assist, in collaboration with our PR partners, with Periscope
visibility efforts, including helping with press release
development and .com content -
- Attend creative meetings and keep pace with new creative
outputs and work available for case study development/portfolio and
visibility efforts
- Maintain relationships with key leaders and partners across
Periscope and across Quad -
- Must be able to maintain excellent client relationships, in the
context of new business activity, and exercise strong presentation
skills -
- Must be able to exercise excellent problem-solving skills,
taking many inputs and quickly strategizing the right path forward

- Perform other duties from time to time to meet the changing
needs of the agency
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in advertising, communication, marketing or
related field preferred. - -Appropriate education and/or experience
may be substituted on an equivalent basis
- Ideal candidate will have up to 4 years agency experience
supporting new business or organic growth
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word and
Excel -
- A quick-on-your-feet personality who is excited by great
advertising and creative content, good at building relationships
and passionate about news, current events and emerging
trends
- A proven understanding of what makes a great story
- Strategic communication skills that allow you to speak and
write convincingly on various topics
- Knowledge of advertising publications, events and
awards
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales
targets
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-stress situations with
effective results
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and
multi-task
- Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills; excellent
judgement
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team -
