greenhouse gas emissions. As a Covanta intern, you will work on
projects that have a real impact on sustainability. Students with a
genuine interest in developing a career in renewable energy,
sustainability, and waste to energy technology are encouraged to
apply! What You'll Do:
- Engage in problem-solving projects following a standardized
problem-solving process (PSR) used at Covanta.
- Using a lean manufacturing process mapping technique (VSM),
identify the optimum flow of materials and information required to
bring a product to a customer.
- Support small teams of people focused on process improvement
initiatives (Kaizen).
- Analyze raw data and provide results to help leaders draw
conclusions about that information.
- Using Microsoft Power BI, create visual dashboards where
reoccurring analysis is required.
- Assist leaders with return on investment (ROI) analysis to
measure an investment's profitability.
- Develop and document Standardized Work for facility
operations.Who You Are:
- Positive, motivated self-starter who can take an assignment and
run with it.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree
program in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or
related discipline.
- Experience using Power BI and similar tools is
preferred.**Ability to travel between facilities within region is
