As a Covanta intern, you will work on projects that have a real impact on sustainability. Students with a genuine interest in developing a career in renewable energy, sustainability, and waste to energy technology are encouraged to apply! What You'll Do:

  • Engage in problem-solving projects following a standardized problem-solving process (PSR) used at Covanta.
  • Using a lean manufacturing process mapping technique (VSM), identify the optimum flow of materials and information required to bring a product to a customer.
  • Support small teams of people focused on process improvement initiatives (Kaizen).
  • Analyze raw data and provide results to help leaders draw conclusions about that information.
  • Using Microsoft Power BI, create visual dashboards where reoccurring analysis is required.
  • Assist leaders with return on investment (ROI) analysis to measure an investment's profitability.
  • Develop and document Standardized Work for facility operations.Who You Are:
    • Positive, motivated self-starter who can take an assignment and run with it.
    • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related discipline.
    • Experience using Power BI and similar tools is preferred.**Ability to travel between facilities within region is required.**About Covanta's Internship Program: During your internship, you can expect to:
