Job Description Job Description 2 year contract for a WLAN Network Engineer role with a leading client in Peoria/Mossville, IL. APPLY NOW! Title: Network Engineer 4 Location: Mossville, IL Workplace type: 100% onsite (M-F, 40 hour work week) Type: Contract Pay: $27-28.97 MAX/hour on w2 IV type: 2 rounds Length: 24 months- possibility to extend Screenings: first iv is tech lab ivfull panel drug and background once hired optional benefits and 401K Must haves: Strong LAN/WLAN skills Cable management knowledge Cisco hardware expertise Min 3-5 years professional experience Cisco certifications [CCNA, CCNP, CCDA] highly preferred Experience performing LAN/WLAN implementations in new site startups. Degree requirement: Associate/Bachelors/Masters Job duties & expectations: Maintain the infrastructure of IT systems that support the business to function efficiently. Design solutions by assessing and aligning the current systems to best practices and comply to federal policies and procedures. Manage updates, upgrades, and other maintenance tasks in both hardware and software areas, to make the network more efficient, cost-effective, and secure. LAN and WLAN administration Knowledge of wireless technology and provide operational support in an operational/warehouse environment Solid troubleshooting and tracing skills, Cisco hardware configuration (router, switch, wireless LAN controller), software maintenance/upgrades, continuous network improvement Responsible for day-to-day network operations in supported PSLD sites, including site start-ups Strong customer support skills and ITSM Monitors networks and provide network up-time for facilities Handle break/fix on the network Interacts frequently with Engineering and IT contacts at facilities, enterprise network teams & application teams for troubleshooting and investigation Proficient with WAN, DNS/DHCP, data cabling, & network hardware Network management - Cisco Prime LMS, DNA, WCS, Radius, Tacacs administration Asset manager for LAN/WLAN (Hardware tracking) including surplus hardware management Working knowledge of: LAN cabling standards Cisco Prime and other network monitoring tools Planning, design, and implementation of LAN and wireless networks including DHCP and DNS Programming and monitoring Cisco network equipment. Planning and upgrading existing networks to stay current with technology or respond to client enterprise network and security guidelines, initiatives, and mandates Assistance with WAN implementations performed by other client network teams Power requirements and standards for network equipment in TCOMM rooms Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key ProjectsPosition’s Contributions to Work Group Surrounding team & key projects Purpose of this team Reason for the request
