REPORTS TO: Department Chair, Health and Public Services
PLACEMENT: Placement on salary schedule is dependent on
qualifications.
MINIMUM PAY RATE:Qualifications include education and related work
experience.

POSITION SUMMARY
Adapt to new and changing situations and demonstrate a positive
attitude. Demonstrate respect for students; understand learning

communications. Fifteen credit hours a semester constitute a normal
load. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet
Junior College faculty contract. Course assignments may be late
afternoon, evening, Saturday, and at branch campuses or satellite
centers including some classes that may include outdoor
activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Teach introductory and advanced classes, including practicum, in
radiologic technology.
2. Work closely with other instructors and special programs and
services within the college to determine placements, curriculum,
and academic support.
3. Lead the process of course development and revision, assessment,
accreditation, and planning activities for the radiologic
technology program.
4. Be willing to teach online and/or blended courses.
5. Participate in appropriate departmental meetings and recruitment
activities; serve on committees.
6. Schedule and lead Radiologic Technology Advisory Committee
meetings each semester. Develop and maintain positive relationships
with all clinical affiliates.
7. Assist students with academic advising. Demonstrate strong
understanding and commitment to the community college mission.
8. Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning.
9. Possess and maintain a thorough knowledge of the subject matter
necessary to the assigned course load; and keep informed of current
trends in the field of radiologic technology and health care.
10. Teach classes during non-traditional times (evenings and
weekends) and at clinical and other campus sites as needed.
11. Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the Joliet
Junior College faculty contract.
12. Participate on advisory boards or organizations related to the
program.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology, Allied Health, or
related field; candidate will be required to complete Master's
Degree within two (2) years of hire to meet expected accreditation
standards.
2. Minimum three (3) years recent experience as a Radiographer.
3. Teaching experience required.
4. Credentialed, in good standing, in radiography by the American
Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the Illinois
Emergency Management Agency Division of Nuclear Safety (IEMA/DNS)
or possess suitable equivalent qualifications required.
5. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective
working relationships with other members of the college and
community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional
intelligence.
7. Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect
and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and
well-being, innovation and quality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master's Degree with a major in Education, Allied Health or
related field.
2. Experience at the community college level.
3. Experience in teaching online and/or using course management
programs.
4. Experience in course development and assessment, planning,
quality and accreditation processes, and committee service.
5. Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from
diverse backgrounds.
6. English and Spanish verbal and written communication
proficiency.
7. Demonstrated multicultural competence.
