Duration: 3 Months – To be determined Shift: Part-time – 2nd shift
- 10am to 5pm A shuttle bus driver in Schaumburg, IL, would be
responsible for the safe and timely transportation of passengers,
likely employees or visitors, between various points, such as
parking areas and facilities. Key duties include adhering to
traffic laws, performing pre-trip vehicle inspections and basic
maintenance, maintaining a schedule, assisting passengers, and
communicating effectively with dispatch. A valid commercial
driver's license (CDL) and a clean driving record are typically
required. Driver Assignment Details The driver will be responsible
for operating a white 15-passenger van, transporting employees from
the off-site parking area to the company’s front entrance. The
route is approximately 0.5 miles on a public road, with continuous
back-and-forth trips for drop-off only. Responsibilities: - Safe
Transportation: Operate a shuttle vehicle safely and responsibly,
ensuring the comfort and safety of passengers at all times. -
Schedule Adherence: Follow a strict schedule and predetermined
routes to ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers. -
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle
inspections, ensure the shuttle is clean, and report any mechanical
issues to management. - Passenger Assistance: Assist passengers
with boarding, disembarking, and handling luggage if applicable. -
Communication: Use radio or phone to communicate with dispatch and
other drivers to coordinate routes and respond to requests. -
Adherence to Regulations: Comply with all traffic laws and
regulations, including those related to passenger numbers and
safety standards. - Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of
trips, passenger counts, and any incidents that occur during
transit. Qualifications & Skills: - Valid CDL:A valid commercial
driver's license (CDL) is typically required to operate shuttle
vehicles. - Clean Driving Record: A clean driving record, free of
moving violations, is essential for this role. - Excellent Driving
Skills: Proficiency in safe and responsible driving is paramount. -
Customer Service: A commitment to providing a positive experience
and exceptional customer service to passengers. - Communication
Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for
interacting with passengers and dispatch. - Patience and Courtesy:
The ability to interact courteously and patiently with diverse
groups of people. - Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the local
city area and navigation systems, such as maps and GPS.
