Work in a long-term acute care setting with Epic charting in Peoria, IL./n /n/nCompensation/n /n - Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,130–$2,250/week/n /n/nTravel Nursing Job Details/n /n - Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – LTAC Med-Surg (Travel Contract)/n - Location: Peoria, IL (Illinois travel nursing job) — Located in the 61605 area, you’ll be close to downtown dining and riverfront attractions, with convenient access to major routes for easy commuting and weekend getaways./n - Start Date: 03/16/2026/n - End Date: 06/15/2026/n - Contract Duration: 13 weeks/n - Schedule: 36 hours/week (12-hour shifts)/n - Shift: Days to start; may transition to nights later in the contract based on census/n - Shift Times: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM/n - Unit: LTAC Med-Surg (10 beds)/n - EMR/Charting System: Epic/n - Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend (as needed to fill holes); holiday rotation/n /n/nRegistered Nurse (RN) Requirements/n /n - Experience: 1 year RN experience required (LTAC, Med-Surg, stepdown, or comparable acute care preferred)/n - License: Active Illinois RN license (or proof application is in process)/n - Certifications: BLS (AHA) required; ACLS preferred/n - Clinical Skills: PEG tube care/feedings; CVC/PICC/Midline care; tracheostomy patient care/n - IV/Drips: Comfortable titrating drips (e.g., heparin) per protocol/n - Floating: May float to ICU (for qualified MS nurses) and occasionally to Acute Rehab/n /n/nLTAC Med-Surg RN Responsibilities/n /n - Provide safe, evidence-based patient care as a travel Registered Nurse for LTAC Med-Surg patients with complex needs (respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, cardiac conditions)/n - Complete comprehensive nursing assessments, develop/update care plans, and coordinate interdisciplinary care/n - Manage central lines and vascular access devices; administer IV therapies and monitor for complications/n - Provide tracheostomy care and collaborate closely with respiratory therapy (RT manages respiratory equipment)/n - Titrate and monitor ordered infusions per protocol and provider direction/n - Document accurately and on time in Epic to support continuity of care and clear team communication/n - Support unit workflow and patient safety initiatives, including handoffs and escalation of changes in patient condition/n /n/nUnit & Support Highlights/n /n - Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5/n - Patient Care Tech Support: Yes (approximately 1:10)/n - Leadership Coverage: House Supervisor available 24/7/n - Telemetry: Housewide tele packs monitored by a dedicated monitor tech/n - Orientation: Classroom orientation per policy plus 2 unit shifts with a preceptor/n - Dress Code: Scrubs (any color); facility-approved t-shirts only/n /n/n Apply now to join this Peoria, IL travel nursing contract and support medically complex patients in an LTAC Med-Surg setting. /n Keywords: Travel RN, Registered Nurse jobs, LTAC nurse, Med-Surg RN, acute care nursing, Epic charting, Illinois nursing jobs, Peoria healthcare jobs.
