Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse
patient populations. - Ability to manage care for both acute and
chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients. - Ability to
develop, implement, and modify patient care plans. - Skill in
medication administration and evaluating medication effects. -
Skill in preparing patients for procedures and managing
post-operative care. - Skill in IV venipuncture and blood
administration. - Ability to document care accurately using EMR. -
Ability to educate patients and families on care plans and
discharge instructions. - Ability to provide constructive feedback
and assist in the professional development of peers. - Ability to
handle conflict management and maintain professional communication
with team members. - Skill in critical thinking to assess patient
status and take appropriate action. - Ability to collaborate
effectively with interdisciplinary team members. - Ability to
prioritize patient safety and adhere to all safety standards
including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and
ambulation safety. - Ability to complete patient bedside shift
reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient
communication boards. - Ability to delegate appropriately and
follow up on delegated tasks. Description: The Clinical Resource
Unit is committed to our Nursing Professional Practice Model. We

community, and colleagues to provide exceptional care. In the
clinical resource unit, our dedicated nursing staff and
interdisciplinary team members practice providing specialized
medical and nursing care to various inpatient units. Our
highly-trained staff utilizes the most current technology and
equipment. Medical diagnoses include but are not limited to
coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, strokes, cancer,
post-surgical care, and chest pain. The environment is fast-paced,
exciting, and always evolving. The position consists of performing
all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to
the scope of service. You will implement procedures and theories
related to the specific area of practice. Maintain up-to-date and
accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the
integration of information for use by the healthcare team. Complete
initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an
appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care
procedures. Modify plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.
Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting
and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communicate with
others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues.
Provide constructive feedback to assist in the professional
development of peers. Confer with colleagues to expand your
knowledge base. Identify your own learning needs and take
initiative to begin appropriate solutions. Fulfills all
requirements of departmental competencies. Float to various
inpatient units and provide direct nursing care. Collaborate with
multidisciplinary team members to provide patient care to various
patient populations. Conduct and document assessments, nursing
diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Act as a
resource to staff from various units. Coordinate care with
multidisciplinary team members to provide the highest possible
quality patient care. Manage care of acute and chronically ill
cardiac and pulmonary patients. Collaboratively identify patient
goals of care and maintain care plans with patients and families.
Implement interventions as needed including medication
administration and evaluation of effects. Prepare patients for
procedures, provide pain management, and monitor labs. Discharge
patients and provide instruction for a safe transition from
hospital. Document all care using EMR. Ensure team huddles are
occurring and attend them. Delegate with appropriate follow-up.
Answer call lights. Ensure basic care such as turning, toileting,
etc., is done per standards of care. Handle conflict management and
maintain professional communication with all team members. Provide
post-operative care for the complex surgical population. 5 Benefits
