Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT) or Registered in
Computed Tomography (CT) Must-Have: - Certificate of Completion
from Radiologic Technology Program or College Diploma in Related
Field Description: Position patients correctly, using proper
immobilization techniques. Perform optimal scans using correct
technical factors, shielding, and protocols, based on the patient
diagnosis, history, and other relevant clinical information. Use
correct technical factors in accordance with the American College
of Radiology (ACR) to use the lowest amount of radiation to obtain
a diagnostic scan. Perform CT angiography, 3D, MIPS, VR, Vessel
Analysis, and MPR's, and post-process computer data to enhance
exams for radiologist interpretation, using reconstruction software
appropriate to the pathology or region of interest. Follow correct
CT Department Technologist workflow, which includes selecting the
correct scan room, identifying and documenting two forms of
identification on each patient, acquiring history, verifying
orders, scanning the patient, sending images to PACS, and
completing the case in the electronic health record. Address QA
issues and charge for contrast media and supplies. Verify that all
images, series, and data sheets have been sent to PACS, ensuring
the number of images is correct. Verify exams with images and
archive images on the scanner. Operate support equipment for CT,
such as an independent workstation, pressure injector, PACS, and
electronic health record systems. Initiate IV for the
administration of contrast media in accordance with department
policy, utilizing standard precautions. Prepare patients for exams
by explaining procedures and encouraging questions. Transport
patients to and from departments when necessary, and assist in
transferring patients on and off the CT table. Continuously monitor
patient condition during CT procedures. Collaborate with
radiologists in tailoring protocols to meet patient exam
requirements. Refer difficult complaints or sensitive issues to
department management. Be accountable for documentation of and
charging for supplies used during the performance of exams or
procedures. Document confidential patient history to ensure the
appropriateness of the exam and contrast media. Document patient
charge data, modifying and initiating charges as procedure
modifications are made per the radiologist or ordering physician.
Document any allergic reactions, IV extravasations, or unusual
occurrences. Initiate incident reports regarding staff or patient
situations. Maintain license and continuing education. Administer
contrast media following proper patient screening. Ensure the
proper exam is being administered to the patient. Consult provider
