Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Oncology - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/16/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN with IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy skills for a 13-week acute care assignment in Illinois. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in an acute care Oncology unit with 19 private beds - Primary patient population includes all types of cancer, commonly lymphoma and leukemia, as well as hematology, radiation oncology, and Gyn/Onc patients - Nurse-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights, with 1:1 staffing for specific therapies - Schedule consists of 12-hour shifts with start times at 0700 or 1900, with possibility of rotation between days and nights based on unit needs - Every other weekend and holiday required - No call or standby requirements - Floating required as part of unit rotation - Epic EMR with Epic Beacon used for documentation, experience preferred - Primary responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens and monitoring for adverse reactions - Charge RN and house supervisor present 24/7 to provide additional support - Patient Care Techs (PCTs) assist with direct care; number varies by census - No specific scrub color required - Orientation for the unit ranges from 24 to 36 hours - Holiday coverage follows every other holiday rotation - COVID vaccination is not required for this assignment - Local candidates are accepted with an adjusted rate if residing within 50 miles /n /n Requirements/n - Active IL RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 1 year of recent acute oncology nursing experience - BLS (AHA) certification required - ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required - Experience in IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, with knowledge of handling precautions and side effect monitoring /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-666007.
