The Pharmacy Director supervises daily operations in the pharmacy
department. Develops policies and procedures to assure appropriate
medications are provided in an accurate and timely fashion.
Responsible for keeping all necessary records for regulatory
- Graduated from an approved College of Pharmacy
- Five years of hospital pharmacy experience required
- Previous Managerial experience requiredLicense or Certification
- Current, unrestricted, and valid pharmacy license to practice
in one of the 50 States, Illinois Pharmacist license preferred. If
licensed in another state, will work in collaboration with the RMC
licensed pharmacist in charge with the State of Illinois.
- Actively participates in purchasing group contracts and support
activities to assure prudent drug acquisitions and usage.
- D evelops policies and procedures for department operations and
- E stablishes working relationships with physicians to resolve
medical staff concerns as needed.
- M aintains records as required by regulatory agencies.
- M anages and provides leadership in financial matters regarding
budgeting and cost control and revenue generation.
- O versees daily department operations to assure quality and
- P articipates and contributes to assigned committees, teams,
task forces, including community service if applicable.
- P articipates on the Pharmacy and Therapeutic committee with
physicians and other disciplines to manage appropriate drug therapy
within the medical center.
- P rovides leadership and direction for ensuring quality patient
- P rovides leadership and direction for improving
- W orks with nursing and risk management to establish and
monitor drug and narcotics proper usage and disposal.
- Satisfactorily complete all required continuing education hours
regarding the care of acute stroke patients.
