organization IMI plc, positioned within the Precision Engineering
Division. Job Purpose Reporting to the Global Category Director,
the objective of this position is to leverage the purchasing power
of IMI Precision Engineering in America and to achieve the set
performance targets for the category in scope Raw Material, Forging
& Remodeling, Standard parts. The position holder will manage the
category strategy in close collaboration with key stakeholders
located in the manufacturing sites in America. Work Location :
Candidates based near our HQ in University Park, IL or Littleton,
CO are preferred. Flexible schedule. Key Accountabilities
Responsible for category achievements against metrics including
cost reduction, supplier reduction, spend at preferred suppliers,
---Supplier Parts Per Million--- and ---Supplier on Time in
Full---. Manage preferred supplier list for America Region for Raw
material, Forging & Remodeling, Standard parts (Total Spend 28M
USD) Ensure a standardized approach to category management in the
region and facilitate transfer of best practice Develop database
and support the evaluation of Competitiveness analyses of Turnkey
solution against IMI free issue material to supplier for Forging &
Remodeling operations with support of others Category Manager.
Promote the use of should cost tool with IMI Precision Engineering
Develop, implement, and manage a supplier development program
Negotiate major supplier contracts for Raw Material, Forging &
Remodeling, and Standard parts suppliers Set targets for Supplier
Reduction and Consolidation in Categories Member of sourcing board
for regional sourcing decisions Support NPD/NPI projects with sound
cost knowledge Drive a Supplier Relationship Management program to
ensure IMI Precision Engineering is a customer of choice Ensure
supply base is compliant to legal requirements and follows IMI
Sourcing Policies and Procedures Risk Management of supply base to
ensure supply chain is robust Improve business working capital
through improved Supplier Payment terms and improved material
supply models Active collaboration with stakeholders across the
business including site purchasing managers, Americas management
team and Global category teams Form effective and mutually
advantageous relationships both internally and externally Offer
support to other procurement areas as required. Person
Specifications/Job Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required as a
minimum in fields such as business, logistics, or a
scientific/technical field. Demonstrable procurement and category
management experience with working experience in a similar
position. Extensive knowledge of Raw Material, Forging &
Remodeling, standard parts processes and technology as well as
Market / industries (Fluid and Motion control) Industrial
Automation, life science, Energy, Rail, Commercial vehicle
applications. Good technical understanding of material
specifications and alternatives for category Global Sourcing
experience utilizing appropriate tools and techniques to
demonstrate value creation Project and Change management experience
with strong leadership, communications and organizational skills
with the ability to coordinate and implement multiple team projects
Self-starter with the ability to work effectively in
cross-functional teams, and independently. Proven negotiating
skills with the ability to effectively influence internal and
external senior management Strong analytical skills with the
ability to interpret and apply result to resolve issues Strong
supplier relationship management skills Strong PC skills,
particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and working knowledge of ERP
systems and e-Sourcing platforms Fluent in English, Spanish. A
third language would be beneficial. Personal characteristics A
