The Director is responsible to lead and manager all aspects of the hospital and physician based patient financial services operations. This includes all day to day billing and collections activities in addition to a strategic focus to maximize reimbursement while minimizing cost and maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and contractual regulations .
Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years hospital management experience; preferably in billing and/or collection areaLicense or Certification Requirements:
    • Certified Patient Accounts Manager, American Association of Healthcare Administratie Management or another healthcare organization

      • Assists and counsels patients in managing and meeting their financial obligations to the hospital.
      • Minimize the hospital's losses to bad debt.
      • Provides leadership and direction for improving patient/customer satisfaction of the billing process.
      • Provides leadership and direction for improving the hospital's compliance with medical necessity regulations.
      • Works to maintain the hospital's accounts receivable at or below best practice standards.
      • Maintain a command of all open accounts receivable and ensure policies and procedures are in place to maximize reimbursement and minimize revenue leakage.
      • Provide leadership to all patient financial services team members through appropriate communication channels including, but not limited to, individual sessions, periodic departmental meetings, monthly newsletters, etc.
      • Monitor Key Performance Indicators related to patient financial services, and mitigate any performance issues.
      • Collaborate with other revenue cycle leaders and Riverside leaders on performance improvement initiatives.
      • Effectively communicate departmental performance, risk, and mitigation efforts to Riverside leadership to help maintain sustainable performance within patient financial services.
