REPORTS TO: Department Chair
PLACEMENT: Placement on the salary schedule is dependent on
qualifications.
MINIMUM PAY RATE: Qualifications include education and related work
experience.

assignments may be late afternoon, evening, Saturday, and at branch
campuses or satellite centers. The position is subject to all terms
and provisions of the Joliet Junior College Faculty Union
contract.
Essential Job Duties and Key Responsibilities1. Ability to teach a
combination of academic courses designed for the Associate in
Science degree with emphasis in Kinesiology/Exercise Science as
well as the Personal Trainer Certificate Program. Course may
include:
3. Be willing to teach online and/or blended courses.
4. Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and learning.
5. Teach at other campus sites as needed.
6. Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the JJC
Faculty Union contract.7. Mentor and advise a diverse student
population8. Participate in Department, College, and University
events, as requiredServe as an advisor to students in Exercise
ScienceMinimum Qualifications
1. Master's Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical
Education, Athletic Training or a closely related field is
required.
2. Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience at the collegiate
level3. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective
working relationships with other members of the college and
community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional
intelligence.
4. Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect
and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and
well-being, innovation, and quality.5. Experience with traditional
and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
6. Effective oral and written communication skills.Preferred
Qualifications1. PhD preferred in Kinesiology, Exercise Science,
preferred2. Three (3) or more years higher education teaching
experience3. Online/Hybrid teaching experience4. ACSM (EPC or CEP)
and/or NSCA (CSCS) certifications5. English and Spanish verbal and
written communication proficiency.
6.Demonstrated multicultural competence.Physical Demands
