Beecher Manor - BUSINESS OFFICE CLERK

The Business Office Clerk is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the business office and its administrative and clerical functions in a long-term care facility.

Primary Duties of the Business Office Clerk:
- - - - - - - Directly responsible for assisting with resident Medicaid applications, patient trust fund, accounts payable, collections, patient contracts, daily census reconciliation. -
- - - - - - - Maintain the Admission/Financial files and be responsible for working with residents and families in the execution of admission documents, assisting them as needed in the completion of appropriate applications.
- - - - - - - Assist with the Admissions Process - Tour and interview potential residents/resident representatives, collecting accurate data on admission inquires.
- - - - - - - Accept reservations for resident accommodations in an accurate and organized manner.
- - - - - - - Analyze referrals to ensure facility can meet resident's needs adequately.
- - - - - - - Facilitate a decision for admission approval and notification of admission approval timely to referring agency.
- - - - - - - Confer with Administrator and nursing department in assigning appropriate rooms to residents.
- - - - - - - Communicate resident admissions, discharges, or room transfers to appropriate departments in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Long-term care experience preferred.
Computer literate.
Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively with residents, families, personnel, support agencies and the general public.
Ability to make independent decisions and be a "self-starter" when the situation is warranted.
Demonstrate patience, enthusiasm, and a cheerful disposition.
