Servicesteam.Job SummaryThe Deposit Operations Specialist III is a
high-level role within the Deposit Operations Department at NASB.
This position plays a critical role in processing a variety of
complex financial transactions and account maintenance tasks while
ensuring strict adherence to bank policies, procedures, and
regulatory requirements. The role also provides exceptional
customer service to both internal and external customers and acts
as a subject matter expert in several key deposit functions. The
ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, analytical
thinking, excellent communication skills, a high degree of computer
proficiency, and an in-depth understanding of banking regulations
and operational procedures. The department administers all
back-office deposit processes for NASB, including item processing
and ACH, debit, digital, and online banking support, CIP oversight,
IRA administration, online account opening management, research and
adjustment services, deposit account collections and legal
processing .What you can expect to work on
- Oversee and process daily operations for online account
opening, account maintenance, and digital banking channels.
- Manage mobile deposit capture workflows, including exception
handling, duplicate review, and customer resolution.
- Process and track deposit returns, including non-sufficient
funds (NSF), ACH returns, check re-presentments, and other related
items.
- Investigate and resolve Regulation E (Reg E) claims in
accordance with regulatory timelines and documentation
standards.
- Perform high-level account research and resolve complex
customer and system-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and banking
regulations.
- Provide outstanding support to internal departments, branch
staff, and external customers as a knowledgeable point of
contact.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate
in procedural documentation, training, and project work.
- Serve as a mentor and escalation point for team members; may
assist with onboarding training and cross-training.
- Support audit and compliance reviews by providing documentation
and participating in remediation efforts when necessary.
- Function as back up to perform all IRA-related operations,
including account setup, contribution/distribution processing, IRS
reporting, and compliance with tax regulations.
- Function as back up to handle legal orders and requests such as
garnishments, levies, subpoenas, and escheatment in a timely and
confidential manner.What you offer us
- Minimum 5 years of experience in banking or financial services,
with at least 2 years in deposit operations or a similar high-level
operations role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant banking regulations, including Reg
E, NACHA, BSA, and IRS rules related to IRAs.
- Proficiency in core banking systems and Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transaction
processing and documentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize
effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- This position is primarily in-office, with remote work one to
two days per week.
- The hours of this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00
